Basically the formula is meant to hydrate your skin and close
your pores. It does a pretty great job of moisturizing, although I still use a
face lotion about 30 minutes before I put on my makeup. All of the Smashbox
primers are meant to close your pores, and that’s where I really think this one
isn’t that great. Even though it does hydrate, it really hasn’t prevented any
breakouts from my makeup. The primer itself doesn’t break me out, but it
definitely doesn’t do its job well. My makeup does go on pretty smoothly with
it on, but my pores still get fairly clogged. I do have to say I am impressed
with how long it has lasted, I’ve used this primer for about 6 months, and I
still have about 3/4ths of the bottle left. My final verdict is that it is not
at all worth the outrageous price, if you’re looking to get a high end primer I
would stick with MAC or a tinted moisturizer.
